It would be easy to get embedded on the sofa on a Netflix binge, but this could also be a breeding ground for loneliness. Try and have some structure to your days: get up, get dressed and try and keep your mind and body active. You may wish to learn a new skill, or dive into that book you’ve been dying to read. Why not even get busy in your garden so it’s ready to enjoy when the nicer weather arrives? Podcasts and music can also bring great joy, and don’t forget all those board games you and your family may have stored away.

Focus on your health

Being physically active will also help your mental health so if you’re able, make sure you go for a walk or a run each day – fresh air can work wonders. It is not just about being active but ensuring you keep eating healthily and getting enough sleep. As your weekly routine has been turned on its head, it can be easy to stay up late and turn to take away food, but by doing so you can start to feel lethargic and depressed. Ensure you have plenty of vegetables and fruit in your diet, be physically active for at least 30 minutes a day, and aim to sleep for at least 8 hours every night.
